Please Help Dulla's Family
UPDATE: Housing is secure! We (wonderful Bluesky people!) were able to get $225 total to help her pay a debt from last year due to an administrative error.
Dulla ( birth name Yolanda) is a Black, disabled, DC grandmother is trying to keep herself and her grandchildren housed while waiting on benefits that have been stalled by shutdowns, snow closings, and court decisions. She is currently so unwell she has been told to skip fasting for Ramadan by her religious leader.

Keeping the Family Together
Dulla's journey is one of resilience and unwavering devotion to her family. Like many of us, she works tirelessly to provide a safe home. Last year, she was diagnosed with both a neurological disease and took in her 5 grandchildren from a very bad situation.
She finally has full custody, but still faces financial challenges. She is waiting on a final disability decision after working her whole life cleaning homes and buildings. This was after emerging from the foster system herself in the 1990s.
Dulla's world is her grandchildren. She knows the hidden dangers of the foster care system and just wants to care for them and keep them safe.
By coming together as a community, we can ensure that the family remains intact while Dulla (Yolanda) continues to work on stability. Every contribution directly supports their essential needs, preserving the unity and dignity of this native DC family. I am asking on their behalf for helping hands to get through this family back onto stable ground.
